THE VILLA   In order to truly describe the unique beauty of Belpoggio one must talk about the villa, the landscape, and the garden as a whole. The vast scenery of the landscape can be found in each detail of the garden, and the garden underlines the beauty of the villa.   From the “belvedere” one looks over the Pratomagno woods, the Chianti mountains and the Arno valley up to the Val di Chiana. In front of the small church, in the shade of a big chestnut tree, on the lawn next to the fountain, one can relax and go back to an earlier, slower time. The panoramic swimming pool is unique, too: it has been built out of an old basin which was once used to collect water for the fields. The old granaries of Villa Belpoggio have been converted into a meeting room: In this inspiring place, where it is still possible to admire the terracotta containers once used to keep wheat and barley, Italian and foreign artists hold painting workshops. The Reception of Villa Belpoggio will be pleased to suggest itineraries and take care of bookings for wine tasting tours all along the “Setteponti” Wine Road and the “Chianti Classico” region.   At five minutes driving from the Villa, a tennis court is available in the small village of Montalto.   Horse back riding tours can be organised on request. Mountain-bikes are at guests’ disposal.
